“YES”

Say             to a Mayor Who Plans for the Future

Sparks has yet to reach its full potential. The city progressed in 80 years from a Southern Pacific Railroad hub to a northern Nevada industrial hub. In the next chapter, Mayor Lawson envisions a more contemporary Sparks.

The Truckee River is nature’s gift to us, cutting along the city’s southernmost edge on its short course from Lake Tahoe to Pyramid Lake. Mayor Lawson envisions rezoning a more welcoming waterfront with a dynamic river district where Sparks residents will want to live and work.

Mayor Lawson stands apart in his dedication to the planning process. He supports establishing distinctive city centers along the river, through the Oddie Blvd. corridor, and downtown. Properly zoned, these districts will buzz with business and culture, blending urban life and tourism.

Mayor Lawson strongly supports the Truckee Meadows Public Lands Management Act, which would place federal land into local hands to increase housing supply and affordability. Greater local control would spur economic growth and give Sparks the ability to welcome new businesses in a way that aligns with community priorities.

Making the Most of What We Have:

Every city in America would love to have a river flowing through it.
